Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow!

With our next Greek odyssey fast approaching Nigel will obviously miss several of his beloved reading sessions (and school dinners) in school.

If he could have, I’m pretty sure he would have even volunteered to carry on listening via Zoom from his sunbed in Hanioti …… but, as told to him, we all need a break far away from it all, including him.

So yesterday, his last day for a week or so, he was determined to embrace every single second of sounding out, and I think, double helpings of his much prized, novelty stickers may also have been proffered.

As he was also going to miss out on his much beloved Sports Day, let’s just say it was emotional,  as he bid a temporary, fond farewell to all his little readers, as he promised himself that he’d do his very best to find a small, suitable, Greek delicacy for them all to share upon his refreshed and suntanned return.

What is he like, if not truly dedicated his little ones …… bless!

As our odyssey posts generally have a habit of going on for longer than our actual holiday, Nigel should make it back in time for the end of  school year celebrations, so, we may interupt the tales of our adventures, for just one day, to bring you another undoubedly emotionally charged post of his temporary farewells, as well as perhaps learning which class(es) the little fella will be listening to read in the new school year in September ....... sad, but happy days!

Nigel is certainly conscientious, when it comes to helping the young readers. The stickers are a lovely touch, too.

Looking forward to hearing all about the Greek delicacies that you have sampled on your holiday.
