Pushing The Boundaries ……..

There is a sign up in the breakfast room that state clearly that it is strictly verboten to take any food away from it ……

…… but, what’s a young monkey to do when his eyes are a little too big for his belly? Especially when greeted, first thing in the morning, by four different varieties of Greek cake on the freshly baked goods section ……. and rather than let a queue build up behind him, as he dillied and dallied over which one to choose, decided it might be easier to just take one of each!

Now, as you know Nigel is the most law abiding person you could ever wish to meet, but after a very valiant effort he found that he still had an ample portion of said  cake on his plate that he really couldn’t manage but would have been a crime to leave, especially as he knew it wouldn’t take that long for his breakfast to go down, to make room for it …….. so checking that the coast was clear ……..

…… and shaking like a leaf, lest he be caught, he furtively squirrelled said cake in with the packed lunch Darrell had prepared earlier, terrified that his surreptitious manoeuvres would be spotted ……

……. and then endeavoured to “act normal” until Darrell and I had finished our meal, before we all headed to the beach, the little fella still quivering, for going against his better instinct!

But then at around 10.30, having calmed down and feeling a trifle peckish, out came his spoils …….

…… which were just as wonderful as at breakfast, but, he decided, not worth the risk of an unseemly expulsion from breakfast, so the exercise will never be repeated, with Darrell promising he’d help Nigel better manage his portion size for the rest of our oddity!

Nigel!!! I'm shocked!

Mind you, I can understand what he did - otherwise, it would have gone to waste (instead of going to his waist.)

Sometimes it’s good to be a rebel!! The cakes look far too lovely to have left behind.

Oh young Nige - I would have done the same myself and felt the same about it too. But if you have been grounded and missed the plane home, maybe that wouldn't have been all bad, and extra few weeks in the sun might be had before your predicament was brought up by Rishi in Parliament - and all the banners out - Free the Muffin Smuggler!
