Testing The Water

I hope I didn’t scare you, it’s only me testing out my goggles because I have  a two hour swimming session on Sunday morning, and I hate having sore, chloriney eyes.

I have also packed my trunks, towel and comb. 
I think the best bit about going swimming is the hot chocolate or soup from the machine afterwards. I had better pack some change for my drink as well
 

For all those who may remember that I had been suffering from athletes foot a couple of weeks ago, it has cleared up beautifully thanks to Auntie Jan’s foot powder and I have been given full clearance to swim by a member of the medical profession. I shall not be spreading foot infections throughout the Brownie fraternity.

Random Act of Kindness for the Day

Brenda, the lady at the Sports Centre was very busy today, so I offered to help her put some of the equipment away.

I think I have a bit of a Gym Manager look about me!

Natural Aptitude - Nil, Cute Factor - Dix Points!

I enjoyed the boxing on Saturday night and thought I would see if I had any potential.

I think I look pretty mean and lean, and could, if I really put my mind to it,  sting like a butterfly and float like a bee, but …..

I’d be devastated if anything happened to my nose!  So I think I will put boxing on the backburner for now.

Avast Me Hearties!

I have had much to do today.
 
I promised Auntie Jan, over crossed gibblets, that I would make a pirate map for our weekend.

She bought me a lovely big piece of handmade paper to make it look as authentic as possible, because these Brownies are very astute and will spot a forgery a mile off.

I got all my best pens out, and once I got started it didn’t take long.

Tired

Please forgive me, I am very tired. I went to the Hobbycrafts Exhibition at the NEC.  It was very traumatic.  In the end I went back to the car and waited while Mum and her friend Lisa finished their shopping.

 

I came home and Auntie Jan had left some Pirate Maps for me to look at,  because tomorrow I am planning to make one for the Brownies to put on the wall of our Pirate Chalet next weekend

It’s seven thirty now and X Factor beckons. We are going to watch it with a curry. Then we are going to watch the boxing on SKY ……. I wonder if I have a natural aptitude for boxing ……

Limbering Up

The lady at the Sports Centre seemed a bit  surprised when she saw me in the queue this morning.  She patted me on the head and said “Well done you. I didn’t think you were a quitter!”
All I have to do now is find what I have an natural aptitude for ……

I don’t think it is weights.

But ping pong looks promising, especially when I find a ball.

And I am quite good a climbing, except I think I am supposed to leap like a graceful gazelle across this horse thing!

But, at least I had a go.  I have booked another session for next Wednesday.  I just don’t want to let Auntie Jan and the Brownies down when we take part in Pirate Games next weekend.

If At First You Don’t Succeed ….

I went to the Sports Centre yesterday to see what I could do about improving my levels of fitness, especially with my pirate weekend coming up.  The lady was very helpful and showed me several pieces of equipment, but she did say that she felt my short legs put me at a distinct disadvantage when it came to reaching the footplates and pedals.

I tried my best, but in the end sat on a bench and just watched.

I am not deterred though.  I was really not properly dressed, so tomorrow I am going back to have another try and am determined to find something I can excel at.

Bonfire Night isn’t what it used to be. You don’t see guy masks in the newsagents shops any more and the morning after never smells how it used to do in days gone by.
 

I only have a few sparklers, a glow in the dark bangle and a huge bag of Haribo marshmallows to toast on a twig over our small but bijou bonfire for this years celebrations.

But, I shall have a traditional bonfire night tea of minestrone soup, followed by a baked potato and sausages, with the toasted marshmallows for a yummy pudding!

Then I shall write my name with my sparkler, whilst remembering Mr Fawkes and his ill fated plot and St Catherine and her wheel.

Finding A Monkey Just Like Me For Friendship or Love …….

I’ve been looking on E-bay to see if I can find a friend ….

This little fellow could be my twin brother, we are so alike ….

But, love could be on the cards, especially with Christmas coming, she is GORGEOUS!

Unfortunately these Monkeys do not seem to have much fashion sense, but that’s nothing that can’t be sorted with a quick trip to Primark or a charity shop.

She put me one of each jelly bean in my pic n’ mix bag so I could try every flavour.

Don’t You Just Hate These Ads?

   
Agh! I hate these ads.

I couldn’t find a picture of the current ad on the tele that’s driving me mad at the moment. The one with the very strange young man in a dinner jacket and greased back hair, inanely nodding and pointing at the various lime green, scarlet or sunshine yellow sofas, that could be in your home  in time for Christmas for an unbelievable price! All I could find was the ad with one of the Kray Brothers in it!

I am sure I could sell settees …..

Ooooo, I have just noticed Auntie Jan’s shopping on the pouf! We sort of made ourselves at home……..

Manchester was brilliant! I had a LOVELY time.

I enjoyed a cinnamon twist and double latte in the Arndale Centre

And then compared the Christmas decorations to those we have in Wolverhampton. 
 

I was a little bit disappointed that we didn’t see any stars from Coronation Street, because on previous visits Auntie Jan has stood next to Audrey Roberts in Marks and Spencer, almost run Tyrone's wayward wife Molly over when she (Auntie Jan) was driving in the city, and ex barmaid Shelley going about her business.

The Cheeky Girls were making an appearance in a jewellery shop but I wasn’t prepared to queue to meet them, not when there was shopping to be done.

Trick or Treat?

I didn’t want to be too scary in case little ones stumbled on this page and were scared witless.  I don’t want to be responsible for nightmares and wet beds.
I shall be going Trick or Treating tonight, but it will have to be before X Factor.
