It’s January 1st 2019 …… I Think

Shhhhhhhh …… a very HAPPY NEW YEAR ……. but for the moment, after last night, we’re just taking things very, very quietly and making as little movement as possible.

Our last evening of 2018 boded well ……. with a choice of two excellent curries……

……. a robust smorgasbord of a buffet table and a well laid table with posh crackers and a scratch card a piece. Lucy got with the top scratch prize of the night winning £26 which she said she would invest sagely in a several months of Netflix.

There was also a huge sack of tut, with Nigel artistically fashioning a snowman from his mouldable foam soap from his delve and I got a money jar from my dip, except I don’t know where it is now!

But then, after that, it’s all a little hazy especially as Darrell offered to make a series of his extremely potent Umbongo Sunrises for everyone!

I am told I “compared” a very interesting version of “Play Your Cards Right” and that I was an absolutely hilarious Brucie (RIP) ……. I am just hoping that no compromising pictures surface on Facebook over the next few days.

Then Nigel informed me that we moved onto Finger Twister, which is where, I believe, Darrell got his articulated strain/sprain!

This was shortly followed by a very intense and competitive Reindeer Toss ……..

……….  of which I was well out, I am told my tossing skills were found to be much wanting ………..  with all of my hoops sadly failing to hook on  anything let alone an antler, which isn’t that surprising as said antlers appeared to be moving all around the room and ceiling far too quickly for my liking.

How we got home I just don’t know, it might have been by taxi, we could have walked, but I don’t think it was by bus as I don’t doubt there were any running at that time in the morning.    All I can say is thank goodness for Lucy’s spare bed, ….. Alka Seltzer and silence!  Happy New Year!

I hope the Um Bongo induced headaches soon fade & you are able to enjoy today.
