Darrell Finds Another Much Yearned For Treasure.

Darrell's weekly forays into the many charity shops of Evesham do serve a purpose, because somewhere on his phone he has a very precise list of the various hard to find, en-trend, retro items he would like to proliferate The Towers ..........
...... so when he came home yesterday looking like a dog who'd got two dodahs bones I knew he had found something special .......
....... to wit a vintage "Queen Anne" style, silver plated napkin holder, his little face was a picture. We all felt compelled to join him at the table to admire it's majesty.!   He'd only paid for it 50p and when we looked, out of curiosity, on e-bay we found that they were going (all be it in their original boxes) for between £4.99 and £9.99, which made his/ours a steal!
After a respectable period of group admiration Darrell decided that his precious find could do with a good polish, however, I did warn him against buffing too much as I knew he would be absolutely devastated if any of the silver plate rubbed off too.  Dinner parties at The Towers will never be the same again, especially now as we also have an After Eight Mint holder to grace our table. I know there are still a few more choice items on his list,  but to be honest, I don't really want to know what they are, as it makes his return from his trips all the more.....  erm .......exciting!  Happy Days!

Great find, Darrell! What will he find next? Are doilies coming back into fashion?

Darrells ability to find bargain priced treasures is great. The element of surprise on the next purchase is possibly a good thing!

My mum had one of these too, along with your After Eight holder. You are evoking such sentimental memories for me. JantheFan x
