Uncharted Tea Territory

Hmmmmm, there were free tea and coffee samples in the staffroom yesterday, and Darrell did wonder about availing himself of one or two to bring home for us all to sample ….
…… however, though we pride ourselves on our comestible experimentation, flavoured teas have always flown under our radar and we will freely admit that our wariness comes from the fact that we all prefer a most ample sufficiency of milk our tea, which I suppose makes us totally unsophisticated and common in this area. I am afraid Nigel calls the flavours “gnats **** and caterpillar droppings” !!!!!  What is he like?
Said teas are really the domain of Hugh, Darrell’s friend and mentor who lives the showbiz life in Notting Hill, Hugh is very fond of a “cleansing fennel” or an “intense beetroot burst”,  so in the end Darrell  took a couple to take down to London on his next visit …… and just got a few stickers for Nigel and his collection instead!

One can't beat a pot of Yorkshire Gold Tea, however our humble abode is not stranger to other tea flavours such as Oolong, Rooibos, Lapsang Souchong, Silver Needle or even Jasmine Dragon Pearls! The latter flavours do not pass my lips I have to say. My son tea tastes go a lot further afield than Yorkshire! JantheFan x

Hugh is a great mentor to have.

How very sensible! I find these fancy flavoured teas smell nice but taste of boiled grass clippings. I'm sure Hugh will think they are a lovely gift.

AAH...tea can be a very personal thing......the first time (maaany years ago) I had green tea, I hated it.....but now the health benefits are widely touted and I guess I should give it a go again.....the US certainly isn't the experienced sophisticated tea expert Britain is!....don't want to offend anyone, but in the southern US, iced tea is necessary for survival in the very hot humid summer.....when in hurricane mode, I can give up anything but ice and tea .....iced tea is very different than hot tea and requires a different blend .....Hugh never fails to amaze!...Dianne
