A Sad Bittersweet Visit ........

To be honest we've delayed publishing this post due to the sad news attached .......

Let's just say that the weekend before last The Towers had been a throng of activity as we had much beloved guests staying with us, to wit The Finance and PE Lady from those halcyon days when we all worked together at The Girls High School 

Their visit has been long planned and much anticipated since just after Christmas when the ladies expressed their long felt want to take Nigel with them on their next visit to the PE Lady's sister's villa on Lake Lugano in Italy at Easter.

They had asked for Darrell's and my blessing and we had no qualms in saying yes.

Their itinerary sounded just too wonderful, especially the visit to a Swiss chocolate factory where they said the free samples were available in gay abundance.

However, just a few couple of days later we began to worry about the outbreak of Corona Virus in Italy and whether they would start limiting fights in and out of the country, before being  hit  by the news that  FlyBe, the airline they were due to fly with had collapsed.

Nigel has, bless him, been stoic ........

........ but it was so hard to see his little Italian bubble burst, especially as he had been avidly practicing his per favores, grazies and pregos with gusto and great finesse  ............... but he's not daft.

We just need to keep calm and keep washing our hands while singing Happy Birthday (twice) with robust rigorousness and see if said ladies, in particular the PE Lady, can come up with any alternative arrangements, while also keeping a close eye on the news and any other relevant developments. That's life!
