....... by the approaching, slightly ominous sound of chainsaw(s).
It goes without saying, but naturally not of a Hilda Ogden curtain twitching type nature (as we don't actually have curtains) that I was up at the window to see what was occurring .......
...... to be greeted by the sight of three shadowy figures clad entirely in orange from head to toe ........
.......two of whom appeared to supervise one who was wielding and using said chainsaw with great aplomb. It was a little disconcerting when the London Paddington train came hurtling past them at break neck speed, but it didn't seem to bother them at all.
They didn't stay that long, so I am not sure if they were just doing a light seasonal trim or if they will be back later for a more drastic cull, I hope it is the former because I have never seen our poor squirrel (Boris) move quite so fast, and believe me, he can move really fast!

Does Boris have an unkempt mop of hair on his head?
So Wednesday was day 2 of the lockdown, yet Thursday was day 4. What is going on?
Beware of men and chainsaws. A hedge we look onto has been massacred by our neighbour's son. I did have a conversation about birds nesting and singing and perching from the branches of one of the threatened trees...... but sadly he took no notice.....the place is barren and I'm now looking onto a broken down fence..so sad.
