I can’t tell you how rampant the emotion was around The Towers yesterday morning.
It started with a knock on the door and Nigel finding a parcel sat sitting next to it ……..
……. and since we weren’t expecting anything was a most exciting discovery.
How Nigel managed to carry into the lounge I’ll never know ……. he says he was merely high on the anticipation of what might lie within. What is he like?
As we all stared at it we knew it must have come from one of our wonderful followers with Darrell saying that he had a spooky, late, great Derek Acorah feeling as to which one, but I think he just looked at the postmark!
There was nothing to do but open it, to be greeted by a wrapped present and a card ………
Darrell right …….
……… it was from our beloved Pharmacy Michelle, who despite working tirelessly on the frontline of the NHS fighting this flipping awful virus had taken the time to think of us. Let’s just say, even before unwrapping the present, tears were shed and sobs muffled …… as she’d even thought of Iris and Bertie too.
What was inside? Only a large box of Maltesers, our absolute confectionary of choice, something, sadly, we’ve become total strangers to since they’ve been having problems with the machinery at the Malteser factory! Needless to say there followed more dabbing of eyes and stifled sniffs, we were totally overwhelmed.
What can we say, but how very thoughtful, thank you so much Michelle, we love you xxxxx The Maltesers will be carefully rationed in our dispenser as goodness knows when they will be freely available again. Being without them has been quite a learning curve, we steadfastly refused to stockpile anything when meltdown fell upon us ……. but with hindsight we wished we’d squirrelled a few extra(dozen) sharing bags and boxes of Maltesers away.
Michelle’s mention of Southport also bought back many happy memories of several holidays spent there and our great love of Crosby Beach …….
Nigel has put Michelle’s card lovingly on the shelf as a reminder to us all of the impact a random act of kindness can have. It’s been emotional.
XXXXX THANK YOU MICHELLE XXXXX

Well done Pharmacy Michele! What a lovely gesture. You have made three monkeys very happy. And two children, too, no doubt.
Glad the Maltesers arrived safely!! Hope they bring much enjoyment especially when you next see Iris & Bertie.
It was nice to have something to look for when I ventured into Southport to do some shopping!
Michele
