After goodness knows how many weeks/months in meltdown, every single job in The Towers has been done, sometimes twice over, except one ……….
…….. cleaning the copper, a job none of us relish …….. but yesterday afternoon Darrell and Nigel decided that as they really had nothing better to do, they really ought to tackle the bowl in the bathroom.
Yet, for a chore we all profess to loathe so much, with Darrell telling us that Hugh, his best friend and mentor in all things de rigueur and a la mode, would simply tell us to embrace the natural patina of the thing, especially when there’s more exciting things to do like directing someone else to sew sequins onto something totally unnecessary …….
……… in the end it reaps such wonderful, satisfying shiny results, where you at least have something to show for all that Brasso, elbow grease and blackened cloths.
I mean, Darrell and Nigel did a really good job ………..
……… only ……… there’s now the matter of the bathroom mirror …….
…….. or, should we embrace the patina for just a little while longer?
