Isn’t Nature Wonderful

It would appear that we not only have moles ………

…….  not of a small, coloured spot type nature, but those of the subterranean, velvety fur, short sighted, digging persuasion.

…… but we also fairy rings ……….

……. little clusters of assorted toadstools, no doubt teeming with mystical magic and an apt discovery considering that the Feast of All Hallows is all but a few days away.

I wonder what Nigel will be most excited about when I tell him the news  ……

……… trying to charm said moles to leave their holes with prime worm specimens  or  negotiating an excellent rate of exchange with the fairies for Iris’s first very wobbly tooth?

I assume that a tooth under the pillow no longer yields a (silver) sixpence, as it did in my day. This, not accounting for inflation, would be 2 1⁄2 new pence, in "new" money.

I assume fairies understand inflation, and the lack of sixpenny pieces, containing real silver, or otherwise. Good luck finding a 1⁄2 a "new" pence coin, too.

What is the going rate for a tooth, these days? A pound? A fiver? Twenty milk teeth, at a fiver each, would net serious money. Make sure Nigel doesn't take the pliers to anyone or any thing. Nigel may consider getting hold of some old false teeth, to make some big bucks. (Not big buck teeth, just big bucks.)

There's always something magical about a fairy ring, even if it does spoil one's lawn........you could always contact Gardener's Question Time on Radio 4 to find out what to do with any fairies you might come across. Give them a few teeth I hear you say! JantheFan x
