Nigel Strikes Gold

As you know Nigel has a happy knack of stumbling upon things when he’s out and about, and yesterday, he just about struck gold.

He was wandering past, what will hopefully be a new food shop in town when he noticed that they were having a right good chuck out ……….

…… and what was there was for anyone to avail themselves of, as far as he could understand the sign, ……..

Well, while others held back, Nigel was in there, he’s not too proud to have a good routtle around and was home a lot sooner than Darrell and I had expected him, dragging his plunder excitedly behind him, He said he’d left plenty behind for everyone else, but perhaps regretted leaving the two shabby chic watering cans that looked as “if they could have belonged” in Hugh’s, (Darrell’s best friend and mentor of all things depeche mode), garden, but never mind.

I have to say that Nigel’s plunder was most excellent.  There were two brand new, sealed, Argos posh suit covers which we all immediately agreed should go in the family Boxing Day Sack of Tut and Plenty, even if we may not actually be able to be there this year if Boris’s Pack of Six is still in place …… but, let’s not go there now!

BUT …… if celebrations in the Homeland, currently in meltdown are not on, thanks to Nigel, back at The Towers,  we’ll at least have a brand new (unopened) game  to play in the form of Obama Lama 2, I mean who wouldn’t love playing this “exciting and hilarious” game of rhyming charades especially after one of Darrell’s world famous cold turkey, chips, peas, bread and butter and pickled onion Christmas Day leftover lunches!  Nigel did well.

And finally, there was an brand new t-shirt, to be honest, a little bit random and not to any of our style/tastes ………

…… but as Nigel pointed out, perfect for Iris and Bertie if they ever forget their ‘jamas for one of our sleepovers or as a coverall for any messy activities we/they might like to partake in.

The boy dun gud ……..

…….. whatever would we do without him and his thoughtful and mooching ways?
