Nigel Makes A Considered Purchase On The School Run.

Nigel particularly really looks forward to the school run, (there and back) because, at this time of year, with the more clement weather,  people start leaving things outside their houses for passers-by to either purchase or avail themselves of for free …..

……. and yesterday was one such day, with young Nigel deciding to treat the Lovely Laura to a “homemade” cherry tomato plant for just £1. He did contemplate the idea of trying to nurture one himself, on one of The Towers window sills, but, to be honest, our track record just bringing up house plants isn’t exactly brilliant, while Laura, from past experience, is rather adept with her green fingers.

So Nigel went for one that appeared to have a good, strong, supportive stem and an ample proliferation of leafage, then duly popped his one pound coin through the letterbox as per the instructions…….

…… dreaming, in the fullness of time, of the day when the aforementioned Lovely Laura might present him with a bijouxesque punnet of his very most favourite salad/sandwich accompaniment of choice for his kind thought, happy days.

Great find, Nigel. Freshly plucked tomatoes taste far better than shop-bought ones. Fingers crossed that Lovely Laura can get a huge yield.

I could get quite addicted to the smell of tomato plants - I was informed you can now get candles which smell of them!!! Really???? I'd rather have the real thing I think. JantheFan x
