Nigel Finds ……..

Yesterday, Nigel found what looked like an abandoned dingy left on the fishing platform at the bottom of our steps

There were, naturally, an awful lot of questions to occupy a young monkey’s curious mind. It was mid afternoon and the path was quiet, save for Nigel and he couldn’t see (or sense of a late great Derek Acorah RIP type manner) that anyone else was around or possibly secreted in a bush, perhaps needing a cheeky, wild wee, after being caught short whilst out for a quick paddle?

There was no sign of neatly folded pile of clothes to signify that the heat of the day had seduced the unidentified “voyager” to an illicit skinny dip in the cool, inviting (????) waters of the Avon, as we are known to be on the flight path for several regular open water swimmers during the summer months

There was also no sign of a struggle ……. or of any river piratery/espionage.  It was a complete and total mystery.  I told Nigel, tempting though it was to have a sneaky dabble on the oars himself, he’d best leave the dingy exactly where it was ……. if it was still there the next day perhaps we’d should report it, although to be honest I didn’t have a clue who to report it to.

N.B Needless to say, although we didn’t see or hear who reclaimed it, the dingy was gone by around eight o’clock that night when Nigel and Darrell went to check if it was still there ……. I guess we’ll never know from whence it came or went, although Nigel thinks, after a great deal of thought  it was definitely something to do with some sort of nefarious Evesham smuggling ring!  What is he like?

Nigel certainly has an active and vivid imagination. Which is excellent, as he keeps us all entertained.

Indubitably, he will ponder long and hard about it all.

Only Nigel could think about smuggling after finding a dinghy! I love his active imagination.
