Living La Vida Lockdown -Day 56 – Cold Brew Soda -Scrapping The Bottom of The Barrell for Something To Do!

Fifty four days held captive in incarcerated meltdown and things, yesterday, were getting a little desperate finding something for Darrell and Nigel to occupy themselves with ……… until, that is, Darrell found a lone, long forgotten can of Cold Brew Soda at the very back of our drinks cupboard, not, of course, to be confused with Darrell’s beloved cocktail cabinet ………

It dated back to the last time our beloved PE and Finance Ladies, from our High School working days came to stay and we went of on an impromptu trip to Home Bargains when we spotted a basket of said liquid refreshment for 29p each, well, it would have been rude not to try it, except we then promptly forgot about it when we got home, until yesterday afternoon that is.

Looking up the bumf on this product it’s sold as an alternative to a low sugar alternative to energy drinks with it’s coffee base offering a source of natural caffeine to pick you up …….

……… perfect for an afternoon slump, well that’s something we know only to well at the moment, so it would have been rude not to give it a quick taste test, wouldn’t it.

After ripping the ring pull off, Darrell and Nigel were surprised it see quite how much fizz the drink contained.  They were greeted by the slightly odd aroma of coffee mixed with citrus, but unperturbed they went Full Monty and unabridged into the taste test.

Yes, there was a very distinct coffee that hit their palate, very quickly followed by the rather gentle hint of citrus, and though not unpleasant, not they have any great yen to imbibe again.

To quote Nigel “ I don’t think we’ll go there again!” and as for the energy rush, well I didn’t notice if they had one, in fact I do believe they went off for a little snooze a little while later.  What are they like?

Never mind. Worth a try.

I like your posh glasses. Very classy, for a drink of fizzy pop.

Thanks for the review, think I’ll give that a miss. Was lovely to read how much fun you had watching the Eurovision Song Contest.
