As you can imagine The Towers is positively thronging with tangible and palpable excitement because tonight is, drum roll ……… Eurovision Night, our most favourite televisual night of the year.
We really don’t know what to expect, except that we’re in for a whole evening of Eurovision entertainment starting off at 6.30 and going on until at least 10/11 o’clock. How brilliant is that?
The highlight of which will be Shine A Light when we will get to see/hear a snippet of all 41 songs and “meet” the singers who would have taken part in the contest proper, had it not been for this blooming virus, but alas, there won’t be a competitive element, no scoreboards, no insightful green room moments and no results of an international jury type nature ……..
However, instead, who wouldn’t want to be part of a virtual sing-a-long with other Eurovision fans from all over the world making a Eurovision choir singing Johnny Logan’s 1980 winning song, “What’s Another Year”.
Darrell has already printed off the words for us to learn and organised several rehearsals. We are, I reckon, pretty much word perfect, if not quite pitch perfect, Let’s just say …….. it’s going to be ………. emotional, very emotional!
We have an ample selection of Eurovision snacks primed and ready to chow down on during the festivities, Malteser Buttons, marshmallows, fudge, Cadbury Chocolate Buttons and Caramel Nibbles, plus Pom-Bears as a savoury alternative, with buffalo wings, pizza and garlic bread for the interval/boring bits and Darrell has promised us a cheeky Eurovision inspired cocktail, featuring, he says, the alcoholic delights of as many Eurovision countries as he can put together from his comprehensively stocked cabinet.
It’s going to be an evening of wonderful Eurovision promise ……. that’s if we don’t all spontaneously combust with pent up anticipation before it even starts! What are we like?
XXX STAY ALERT XXX

It sounds great! The snacks sound fantastic, too.
Malteser Buttons!! Has the world gone mad?
Pom-Bears? Are they Australian?
Wish I'd been there, sounded like the best of evening lockdowns! JantheFan x
