……… which if you don’t know is Greek for “Did this cake fall from Heaven?”!!!!!
Despite my feeling very much better after my unfortunate mal de mer experience during our Greek away a day boat excursion, we decided that we should reserve the consumage of the cake that Darrell and Nigel purchased in The Old Fiscardo bakery until this morning ………
…… perhaps it could be seen as a risky move, as there could be the chance that they might have gone slightly stale, but we decided it was a risk worth taking so that we could all partake in the experience together.
Let’s just say they DID NOT DISAPPOINT and perhaps the keeping for an extra day may have indeed improved them by maturing a little.
But there are no Greek words for nom, nom, nom ………… in fact, though it is our trademark reaction for fine food we found “nom, nom, nom” not worthy ….. our Greek custard cake ….. dripping, and I mean dripping with honey was completely on a new Richter Scale. As Darrell so succinctly put it …… “If this had been my last comestible morsel on earth ….. believe me, I would have died and gone to Heaven!!!!!”

"It could be seen as a risky move, as there could be the chance that they might have gone slightly stale." Or Nigel could have got up during the night and eaten it, claiming to have sleepwalked and sleepate....
