The London Poppies ....... On Rememberance Day

After all the excitement of our “London Window Experience”, I felt that we all needed grounding …… so decided to take Darrell and Nigel to see the Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red installation at The Tower of London.
The light was fading as we arrived, but that made it all the more moving and sombre.
It was very eerily and silently beautiful, but so many, many, many poppies …….. poppies as far as the eye could see ……
…… each one representing a life tragically lost too soon…….
……. so many …… it was almost beyond understanding
…… and made us all realise what a very blessed life we have, especially today on the 11th November, Remembrance Day.

Your last photo really says it all..the sea of poppies cascading over the wall and into a river of blood..they died so that we could be free....and all the new and shiny 21st century buildings overlooking, proving our freedoms.
