The Amazing Ring Of Cheese!

There can't be many people who are not giving careful consideration to their prawn ring at the moment ....... and, never let it be said that we would ever be found wanting in that department, although, we have to be honest, we, ourselves are total strangers to a said prawn ring, much preferring a hand reared raised pork pie on our festive table ...... plus the obligatory bowl of real Black Country Scratchings, well it would be rude not to.
Soooooooo, yesterday afternoon we all gathered round the table to thumb through the festive food magazines we have collected over the past few weeks in an effort to try to start putting our yuletide comestible shopping list together.
It was a probably the most totally absorbing activity at The Towers so far this year, even more than trying to whittle down our favourite entries  for the Eurovision Song Contest.  Never have so many noms been oooooooed, ahhhhed, and sighed over in one single afternoon, I believe there was also some surreptitious page stroking going on, but I am not shaming!
What on earth are you supposed to do when there are almost too many gin infused salmon trios, Peruvian scallops, buches, crab and avocado spheres, Pavlovian stacks and bombes of every size and  ingredient to take in ?  Let's just say our list will need culling.
However, our most favourite page of all, which we all found hard to drag ourselves away from, was  in Aldi's magazine which featured an "Amazing Ring Of Cheese". Which at first had Darrell and Nigel in a severe fit of the giggles when Darrell suggested that it sounded a little bit of the rude.  What on earth is he like?
But despite the ribaldry it has to be said that several truckles, a very comprehensive continental selection, a truffle Gouda and some cheesy strings were added to our list which will certainly will not be culled ....... and although it's an awful long way away, Darrell says it's also given him a most excellent idea for our next years personalised Christmas card ...... I dread to think!

You all look deep in thought, deciding on the Festive Food. Can’t wait to see what idea you have had for next years Christmas card!

Although I am vegan, from Monday to Friday, I do like a good bit of cheese. (A good lot of cheese, if the truth be known.)

You can't go wrong with a nice truckle of extra mature cheddar.

Is your next Christmas card going to be very cheesy?
