I don’t think any of us got a wink of sleep last night, we were just too excited …….
……. in the end Darrell gave up and at half past six bought Nigel and I a very welcome cup of tea in bed……..
……. before saying, if we didn’t mind he was going to “bagsie” the shower first, as he didn’t want to be found wanting on this very special of days ………..
…… because today is the reason why we never faltered, for one second, from our rigorous and unstinting meltdown regime. It’s the day we enter our “family barbeque in the garden bubble” for the very first time and see, if sadly not smother our beloved Little Miss Iris and Young Master Bertie with kisses and cuddles, up at Lavender Fields after our weeks in exile ……. ooops ….. bear with me, I am filling up just thinking about it.
On such a momentous and, dare I say, historic occasion of a family type nature, none of us has any wish to be found wanting in the personal hygiene stakes …….
……….. so it was showers all round, with washed and conditioned hair, scrupulously brushed and flossed teeth, toe and finger nails cut, nose and ear hair trimmed to an inch of it’s life and assorted varieties of Lynx body spray applied in liberal dosage to all flanks and quarters.
Followed by the putting on of clean and immaculately pressed outfits and polished shoes, again with thanks to Darrell. No way do we want to be seen, despite these strange times as having let ourselves go.
We are responsible for taking the pudding and will also taking few small gifts, we know we mustn’t spoil Iris and Bertie …………
………. but in our defense, there has been an awful lot of missed treats over the past few weeks, so a few Kinder Bars and Bertie’s favourite Bourbon biscuits are easily justified as making up for lost time.
We will set out at around 11 o’clock, if, we don’t burst before then. I have a feeling it will be quite a quiet walk, with each of us lost in our thoughts of so many nursery and school runs missed, but I think the mood will be very different on the way back …….. however, we need to remember meltdown is by no means over, we still need to be careful and remain alert at all times, otherwise our days in isolation will have been a complete waste of time.

Great! Everyone ready in good time. Have a wonderful time!
Except: "Nose and ear hair trimmed to an inch of it’s life." One inch long nose and ear hair remaining? That is very long indeed! Mind you, not as long as this man.

One inch is 2.54 cm, and this man's is about ten times this!
Ooh-big day today. Can’t wait to hear all about the meet up. I’m sure it’ll be fun filled.
