Our First Ocardo Order

Darrell got a very exciting e-mail, tinged with a little disappointment from Ocrado re: our first online shop/home delivery with them. They said our order was being prepared and would be delivered by Kevin in “The Raspberry Van” …… but sadly, they did not have any Angus beef steak mince and (shock, horror) they did not have a substitution for this omission ….. and you know, we love the tangible excitement of a Tesco substitution!  So no substitution, no mince, and therefore no spag bol this week!!!  Hmmmmmm!!!!!
But, bang on time ….. if not a little early, Kevin arrived dans “Le Raspberry Van” …….
…… with colour coded bags for items for the freezer, fridge and the food cupboard ……
……. plus a free mini can of coke, which we gave to Nigel to sample.
Then when everything had been put away, we took a quiet five minutes to thank Darrell for his judicious shopping this week, which allowed us to have Heinz spaghetti hoops instead of own brand ones …… and forty fish fingers instead of 10 ………
….. but will we be seeing Kevin in “The Raspberry Van” again? …… Well, that will be the subject of some Castle Greysquirrel debate, hopefully not heated ……

The mini coke is giant coke in Nigel's hands (arms.)

My favourite item from Ocado is Lu la barquette... or jammy boats as I like to call them! They're great for dunking in tea. Herb x

Placard waving here - 'Support your local farm shop for meat, support your local farm shop for meat, support your local farm shop for meat'.

We don't always, but it was good to jump up on a soap box and shout :)

And we adore fish fingers so will be round for tea some day :)

Love, Hank and Marvin xxx

Love the colour coded idea; no rummaging around for the fridge/ freezer items!.... Kevin seems to do a first rate job ....and who wouldn't love a Raspberry Van.... it ads a great fun touch to the grocery run ........when I was young (ancient times), home delivery of all sorts was common, including pick up and return of laundry, dry cleaning, etc...... Dianne

PS Mr. D and I will sigh over lucky you and home delivery......perhaps it will make Mr. D homesick for UK and home delivery!

Hi Dianne,
Lots of things could make me homesick but more like proper beer, curry and fish and chips would be higher on the list.
