Darrell suddenly decided yesterday afternoon that visiting a nearby garden centre, after work, was a pursuit of a very manly, rufty tufty, pipe smoking type nature …….
…… and was therefore an activity he should try to embrace, being a stranger to flora and faunae …….
……. however he hadn’t banked on Nigel wanting to accompany him …..
…….. the lure of terracotta Halloween tranklements .
……. or Nigel’s pester power!
And, inside the garden centre was no better, Darrell might have been tempted to linger amongst the festive displays (a bit early I know) to acquaint himself with what was likely to de rigueur this year festively speaking ……
……. but the merest sniff of a Christmas tree …….
……. bauble or cracker and there’s no doing with Nigel whatsoever ………
….. so Darrell decided it would be best to distract Nigel with a garden centre cake or two ……..
……. while he quickly nipped back to have another look at the terracotta pumpkins!!!!

I like the price tag through the nose - rather like a prize bull.
That cake is making my mouth water too.
thank goodness for treats .....they save the day many times .......being a gentleman gardener should definitely appeal to Darrell .....he could inform all on mulching, composting, and organic pest control .......my attention would be all over the place too, with seasonal decorations as well as the autumn plants .... love garden centres! .....Dianne
