Living La Vida Lockdown – Day 71 - At Home Chez Hugh

A lot people have been asking after Hugh, Darrell’s very best friend and mentor of all things what are a la mode, de rigueur and rive gauche ……. he is very touched.

Hugh decided it was best to furlong himself as soon as meltdown began and is currently blissfully self isolating with gay abandon at Le Chicken Coop, his Worcester bolt hole in Cobblers Corner with his constant companions …….

…… although he says it would be nice now and again to be allowed to share the settee with them rather than sit on his own-some on his leather bound pouffe.

His agent knows not to ring him, despite everyone wanting his expert opinion on all things of a viral type nature, showbiz or otherwise, he has told them to get Laura Kuenssberg instead, as she seems to have her finger on the pulse of pretty much everything (while staying alert) these days.

The only thing he is giving any consideration to at the moment is the possibility of bringing out his own exclusive jewellery collection called Hugh-Bijoux, but there again he is not all that sure if he really needs the hassle, even diamonds can get a bit tiresome some days.

He says that his man what does is taking very good care of him while adhering to all social niceties and distance and was well chuffed with the little face mask Hugh got him as a small thank you, which, according to Hugh, goes soooooooo well with Mellor’s flat cap, Barbour and wellies.

Mellors brings Hugh specially prepared meals from his hostelry of choice The Talbot at Knightwick every day, which along with his weekly hamper from Harold's, provides Hugh with all the essentials. He says he thinks he may have put on the odd ounce or two in isolation, and no doubt he could soon work them off with his personal trainer Alphonse via video link ……  if, he can be bothered, with the Panto season in question this year, what’s the hurry?

We speak to Hugh almost every day and know that the second we are able, the invitation is there to spend a few days with Hugh or he with us, it’s just a waiting game ……..

…… but even if said waiting isn’t until the evenings begin to get cooler Hugh says he has the logs (again thanks to Mellors) and it’ll be toasted marshmallows on round, hopefully without any distance, what is he like?
