OMG ….. what can we say? We have finally met the PE Lady’s Mum in real life and it was just as robustly wonderful as we had anticipated, we all felt very blessed in a Hello magazine type way……
…… and as such, as mark of respect, we “elder” monkeys decide to remove our Movember moustaches for this very auspicious occasion, so that the PE Lady’s Mum could also see how we looked in real life too. As Darrell rang the doorbell of “The Dolls House”, on our behalf, his finger was shaking with a tangible sense of excitement.
The PE Lady’s Mum was just as mahoooosivley lovely as we had imagined, and as she led us into her lounge, the smell of fresh baking filled the air. We felt at home straight away, so much so that we immediately reclined and lounged on her sofa in the London fashion (just as Darrell had taught us following his recent sojourn to Notting Hill), but we carefully avoiding lounging on her knitting!
The PE Lady’s Mum tea had set a little tea table for us…. with a proper embroidered tablecloth and lovely china plates …. we were all very overwhelmed……
…. and when she asked us which cake we would prefer, lemon drizzle or currant, we all said both, because it would have looked most rude to favour one cake over the other ……
…. and it was the only time there was a lull in our conversation, but it would have been most impolite to speak with our mouths full in the presence of a lady. As the sound of happy nomming continued unabated for quite some time The PE Lady’s Mum remarked that she knew we very much appreciated a “good cake” from reading our reviews, but actually seeing (and hearing) that appreciation at close hand was really something to behold!
Time flew by far too quickly, and before we knew it it was time to go home, but not before Nigel impressed the PE Lady’s Mum on his vast knowledge of Treen and modern glassware, something it seems he had picked up subconsciously from watching Antiques Roadshow out of the corner of his eye …… what is he like?

Well how delightful - I'm sure the PE Lady's Mum treasured your visit. I'm wondering if when Nigel grows up he wants to be David Dickinson and say, 'As Cheap as Chips' or perhaps be a contestant on Bargain Hunt - now there's an idea!

Lovely cake and lovely company are the very best ever....the PR lady's Mum must have been so impressed with your excellent manners and Nigel's antique information.....looks like it was a very special Mary Poppins sort of day that will be enjoyed in your memories always...Dianne

I always knew PE Lady's Mum would be wonderful.
I am glad Nigel didn't get cake crumbs in his moustache, lemon drizzle or currant cake ones. Heaven forbid if he had whole currants there.
Jimmy Edwards or Magnum PI could give him advice on how to avoid such mishaps.
