Eyes of Toad and Toes of Dogs….

Nigel’s eagle spotted a frog or perhaps it was a toad …… on the way to work yesterday morning …..
……. and all I can say is thank goodness it was on his aforementioned way to work and NOT on the way back …….. because Nigel would have been all for bringing it home with him!!!
With Halloween being all but week or so away, Nigel’s mind was already racing to what could be an extra bonus to his planned spooky Halloween incantations!!  But, thank goodness for Cook Lady and her seasonal ban on toads/frogs in the kitchen lockers (especially Nigel’s) at this time of year!!
Nigel did hope that the toad/frog might be still around after his shift had ended, but it was a canny old toad/frog…… as he was well and truly gone by Nigel’s return!
However, it didn’t stop Nigel practicing his incanting when he got home …..
Cross eyed toads, and toes off dogs,
Wings on cats, and warts on hogs,
Knives and forks, and big spoons bring ,
To stir my pot of writhing thing,
Bubble, bubble, my pot bubble
Like a hell-broth, I smell trouble!!!
What is he like??????  I blame Darrell!!!

I blame Shakespeare. Has Nigel been reading the bard?
" Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble. Scale of dragon; tooth of wolf;
Witches' mummy; maw and gulf
Of the ravin'd salt-sea shark;
Root of hemlock digg'd i the dark;
Liver of blaspheming Jew;
Gall of goat, and slips of yew
Sliver'd in the moon's eclipse;
Nose of Turk, and Tartar's lips;
Finger of birth-strangled babe
Ditch-deliver'd by a drab."

No way to resist any time but this Hallows Eve time guarantees Nigel's unwavering interest ....toads, frogs newts.....it's all fair game for Nigel.....not sure why the toes bit.....fun dictated by the wind blowing through the trees, stormy nights with things going bump that send the imagination soaring....Fun fun.....Dianne

a song about frogs that nigel can sing to encourage frogs to come to tea
Ten little frogs were not feeling fine
One went to the hospital and then there were Nine

Nine little frogs went out to play
One got hit by a ball and then there were Eight

Eight little frogs were named Stephen
One died by a 'Silver Bullet' and then there were Seven

Six little frogs went for a dive
One stayed at the bottom and then there were Five

Five little frogs were on the floor
One got stepped on it and then there were Four

Four little frogs sailed to the sea
One disappeared and then there were Three

Three little frogs were wearing shoes
One walked away and then there were Two

Two little frogs were having fun
One died laughing and then there was One

One little frog was basking in the sun
That one forgot the suntan lotion and now there are None!
in fact darrel dont tell him but its a poem to keep frogs from your door big love marc
