Nigel said that he had pondered a while as to what he should bring back from his little jaunt to Buckingham Palace, but really it had been a no brainer …..
….. and so hoping against hope that he would not have to surrender his hat for close inspection as he bid his fond farewells to the Palace, Nigel had managed to secrete two royal comestibles within its confines for our delectation.....
….. proceeding to guard his precious cargo with all due care and diligence back to his hotel and then the following day all the way home, on the train, back to Castle Greysquirrel.
Inevitably there was a little collateral damage, but that is only to be expected on such a journey, over several days with such delicate delicacies!
….. And so we are sitting here today with somewhat squashed and in all honesty, barely recognisable Royal comestibles in our kitchen table ……
We thought it best, considering their passage and not wishing to offend Nigel, to take only very small nibbles …..saying that we thought that they would be best admired now and then as they were such treasures, preserved in the freezer, to be brought out fleetingly on “occasion” as conversation pieces, rather than consumed with ungracious great gusto.

I knew that hat would come in handy!
Understandable Nigel wants to hold onto any and all Garden Party moments.....perhaps he can be persuaded his beautiful outfit needs to be refreshed for the fantastic matrimonial day that will soon be here....the freezer is a brilliant solution for the delicacies.....bless his heart...Dianne
