Grand National Day

Yesterday, it was Grand National Day so we decided, by an overwhelming majority, to have a tiny weeny flutter ……
….. so Darrell fetched a paper from across the road …
…… and after an awful lot of robust debate, some of it quite heated …..  and a pin, we finally agreed on two horses …. The Package and Burton Port …..
…… then divided up our money ……
…… for Darrell to take over to the village bookies, to place our each way bets ….
ready for the Grand National 2014…. and then we all settled down to watch the big race, wondering if it would be a celebratory Chinese and Vimto for tea or the egg and chips as we had otherwise planned.
Let’s just say, we had the aforementioned egg and chips,
…… with Nigel almost unable to watch at the end …..
…… closely followed by Darrell! Our horses? Well, The Package finished, but came in 12th and you don’t win anything for that and Burton Port unseated his rider at the second fence.  And our tea?  Nom, nom, nom!!!!

Bummer!.....But it sure was a few exciting adrenalin pumping moments with your hopes riding on those horses!......sometimes we too eat egg and little fried potatoes (and some bacon or sausage) for our supper along with some Tropicana.....easy peasy and
always just right!......Dianne
