Darrell!!!!

Oh my goodness,  what is Darrell like …….???This morning he and Nigel seemed to be up extra early, and Darrell was holding Nigel spellbound ………
…… with a tale that “according to Alan Tidmarsh”,  if you wanted a bumper crop of spaghetti this summer the optimum time to plant it was at dawn on the first of April when the conditions would be most conducive to it’s germination ……..
Well….  Nigel was down the bottom of the garden before you could say Bolognese sauce ….. full of innocent determination and excitement,  brought on because spaghetti on toast is his fifth most favourite tea of all time……
…… while Darrell erm…… supervised …. advising Nigel as to how far apart he should plant his spaghetti shoots!
Nigel was so proud at the thought that because of his robust and diligent early morning efforts he would hopefully be able to furnish Castle Greysquirrel with enough spaghetti to last a whole year …………………and maybe, there would even be enough leftover to share with friends and neighbours …… oh Darrell, what have you done?????

Excellent.
The BBC current affairs programme did the same thing in the 1950's and even the Director of the BBC was taken in.

Just so long as the Lirfa Loop beastie doesn't get loose in the garden and eat all those shoots before they have time to properly grow!

Happy 1st April boys!

Darrell, Darrell, Darrell! Dear Nigel's generous heart shines bright even in this first day of April circumstance!....wouldn't it be wonderful if something miraculous happened and little green sprouts started to pop up......perhaps some oregano or parsley for Nigel to use in his spaghetti sauce !!.....the unfettered hope of the innocents brings miracles all the time!......Dianne
