Nigel’s Best White Elephant Find Ever, Ever, Ever ………

Now, Nigel didn’t go looking for this object on The White Elephant Stall at the Village Easter Fayre on Moday …… but as soon as he saw it, he just had to have it, no matter what the cost …….
……… it was only a proper, metal, Nigel sized garden bench, and the most beautiful thing he had seen, except for, perhaps, Baby Iris.
He said that when he saw it his heart started pounding, and he was frightened that being so small someone would reach over him and get to it first, but he decided that the best course of action was to stand his ground, shout as loud as he could, asking how much “the bench” was ….
……. but at the same time, not wanting to sound too interested, just in case it bumped up the price!
He got it for 25p!!!!!!  Well, he then called me and we got it home and carefully positioned it, in the sunniest spot, on the side of the fish pond.
Never has anything been so “perfeck” and meant to be!  I can see Nigel spending many happy hours watching the fish, contemplating, looking not unlike, to be honest,  a contented little old man …….
Darrell has suggested that all he needs is a fishing rod, but I am keeping shhhtummmmm about that one!!!  Happy Days!!!!!!

I have to say that is a marvellous find - and an absolute bargain too. I'm sure Nigel will have many happy hours sitting there contemplating the meaning of life at Castle GreySquirrel. JantheFan x

A perfect purchase.

Do I sense a David Jason theme going on? Pa Larkin's "perfeck" and Del Boy's "keeping shhhtummmmm?"
