To Quote Frankie Valli And The Four Seasons ……… Oh What A Night!!!!!!!

Last night was a night to remember, filled with so MUCH laughter and …….. needless to say, a little manly emotion!  It was far more than we could ever have anticipated as hopeful genial hosts ……. plus much, much more ……
Dinosaur Cake……… which all started off with an unbelievable dinosaur cake …… made by Jo,  the resident Mary Berry at work, and a present from Steph and Beccs ……
Let’s just say that Darrell was too overwrought with emotion and sobbing  to have his picture taken with it ……..
…….. and Nigel was totally hypnotised by it, but not enough not to ask if he could have the dinosaurs afterwards to “do something with” if they weren’t naturally edible!
Babs and Lu
Everyone entered into the spirit of our theme ……..

……… but we all agreed that our friend Dawn was the best in her cave …… took her about half an hour to get through the Castle’s portals and all the time everyone was totally helpless with laughter!
Our comestibles all went down very well too, our roasted faux pterodactyl was a triumph, and was reduced to its bare bones, partaken between a bap, with a sausage, stuffing, cranberry sauce and proper thick gravy …… nom, nom, nom, nom, nom!!!
There was a moment during the evening when everyone’s spirits seemed to falter ….. when the caveman and one of the dinosaurs seemed to be lost in their thoughts …… perhaps the realisation that we wouldn’t be around after next week had finally hit home ……..
……. so Darrell (now recovered from the emotion of the cake) suggested we go into the garden for a Hello Magazine type photo shoot …….
…….. and the spirits of our guests ………
…….. soared to new heights …….
sarah
……. which after a while I suggested to Darrell that perhaps we ought to go back inside, before things got too out of hand ……..
…….. and get out our Caveman’s sack of plenty, where everyone had deposited their £1 c**p present ……
……. and again much more hilarity ensued ………

……. with everyone thrilled with their gifts!!!!!!!!  It was a night that we won’t forget for a long, long time to come ……. and the photos of which we will show Baby Iris when she is old enough, probably when she is about 30!!!

As the laughter finally faded into the nigh after our last guest had gone and leaving our neighbours finally able to go to sleep ….. we made a fleeting attempt to tidy up …….
…… but decided in the end that it could all wait …… each wanting to be left with their memories of a wonderful night, with wonderful friends …… and the end of an era!!!

One year, my two brothers and I went to Poundland on Christmas Eve and had five minutes to buy the other two a tasteless present. Good fun.
