A Time To Get Writing ….. And A Time To Get Posting ……

Yes, yesterday afternoon Darrell put on his Now That’s What I Call Christmas CD at full pelt, popped a few choice Mr Kipling mince pies to warm in the oven and donned his reindeer antlers to set the mood for us to, as he put it, …..“get down and dirty” to write our Christmas cards.
IMG_7176What is he like? But, I have to admit, it was a very lovely and thoughtful festive mood setting, that had us all humming to the music, especially Slade, as Darrell can do a brilliant Noddy Holder yelling “It’s Christmas!!!!!”, wrapped in the romantic wafting of said warming mince pies ….. and reminiscing Christmas’s  past and dreams of Christmas’s future.IMG_7170We have a very nice lady who always makes our cards for us, but this year we gave her a bit of a festive conundrum because, as we had very little, if any snow in the year, we didn’t have any of our usual gratuitous snow scenes for her to work with or embellish ……
IMG_7174So, in the end, after some debate, none of which was heated, we decided to recreate one of our Christmas posts from a few years back http://mumsmonkey.blogspot.co.uk/2011_11_14_archive.html and she just added a couple of pointy arrows and a little artistic sprinkling of glitter!!
Picture2The actual writing of our cards was very much a co-ordinated military operation,  I wrote the greeting, we all signed our name, some faster than others, Nigel stuck on the stamps and then Darrell addressed the envelopes ……
IMG_7220……. then, it was left for me to post them all ……. after once more very carefully checking that all the addresses were right ……… IMG_7224….. especially those to foreign climes, like America, which never look quite right to us …… Happy Days!

I hope Nigel didn't get any stamps stuck on himself.
Don't give the idea of posting himself to sunny Florida.

I looked at the old post from 2011 - you haven't changed a bit!

your card was placed in the position normally reserved for her Royal Majesties christmas card by Hugh him self .o how he laughed when he opened it nearly chocking on his eggs Benedict and then burst in to tears saying how sad it was that you were not here to open it with him ,but Panto calls him every day and every night is party night so its best your not i have been told i have to take a photo off it every day and send it to him so he can look at it as he does not want it to leave the house as its far to preciouses and as for him having it in his dressing room like i suggested was a big NO NO as he pointed out to me in a a harsh tone" those understudies are so bitter and twisted and can get so jealous of me all becuase i Hugh will never miss a performance and let down my public i just know they would do something to it knowing it would break my heart thus making it impossible for me Hugh to go on stage giving them their chance to take my place and still my glory and thunder ", but this will not happen for i Hugh will not let it by keeping my precious card were i know it is safe " and on that note he left the table in a flurry of feathers and Faux fur to catch his helicopter to the theatre well boys all i can say is it looks like the old Hugh is on his way back big love marc

Boyz it adorns my high frontage too - that's the top of the fireplace. Resplendent for all to admire - and admire they have, in their hundreds (cough) well you know what I mean. What matters is it loved by your fans and that of course includes me - JantheFan x

Thank you so much for yours - it was the first one to arrive and caused much merriment at Parkhurst Towers - even Mr P looks forward to the arrival of the monkey card. For now it has pride of place on the mantelpiece but we are away for Christmas and will be taking a few special cards with us to decorate our cabin - yours is definitely coming with us. Card to follow soon to you - I am really behind this year but hoping by Monday to have all my cards in the post xx
