Following on from Wednesday's post, (because The World Cup got in the way of posting) ..... Darrell returned from town in a most robust and jubilant mood, beaming from ear to ear ….. he and Nigel had agreed to spend their Bonus Ball winnings on something that we could all benefit from, with Darrell’s small stipulation that it had to be de rigueur as well as practical ……
…… and I have to admit the boy done good! He said that on all his visits to Hugh his best friend and mentor who lives the showbiz life in Notting Hill he was always been struck and not a little envious of his orange and considerably de rigueur kettle ……
….. and so with £24 to spend he decided that we too should have an equally romantic implement of a boiling water type nature, but ours should be red to add a touch of considered and subtle colour to the predominantly black and white decor of Castle Greysquirrel’s newly renovated kitchen ……
However….. exquisite taste and much mentioned de rigueur often comes at a price, and although Darrell had shopped with all due prudence, even the best priced kettle, although greatly reduced, came to a little more than his and Nigel’s winnings …… but, as it was so perfect, he threw caution to the wind and dug a little deeper into his own pocket …….. as he said, “What price true refinement, elegance and style?” What is he like?

Perfection in the kitchen. It's an amazing kettle when I look at the shiny redness I can even see someone taking a photograph! Clever stuff!!! JantheFan x
