With our “Holiday of a Lifetime Holiday” to Last Vegas on the horizon I decided that I ought to try to acquaint Darrell and Nigel to the finer American ways, especially as far as their cuisine is concerned, so that our quintessential Englishness won’t make us stick out like three Limey Pommes while we are over there.
……. And so to ease them in gently, I thought I would try them with a packet of Double Stuff Oreos, because I knew that if/when we go for High Tea at Caesar's Palace the first thing Darrell and Nigel would remark upon when served with a plate of these dainties would be how black they are……

When I was a lad, I used to split the biscuits in two and scrape off the filling with my front teeth.
Loving it - nothing better than a good old dunk of the biscuit! JantheFan x
Eugh eating an Oreo, let alone disecting it and dunking it, makes me shudder! I guessed Nigel would love it but as such a gentleman of refinement, you did very well to embrace that particular American custom Monkey. Well done!
Roll on the weenies.....
its lovely to dunk but you have to time it right notting worse than soggy biscuite at the bottom of your cupper big love marc
Very brave, boys....I love everything Anerican EXCEPT their chocolate....Hershey bars, Oreo's, you name it....it's just not Cadbury's! Glad you survived the ordeal though!
Oreos are a true American classic for sure...don't care for the dark chocolate ones myself, but prefer the vanilla Oreos with chocolate icing inside......don't like dunking but usually do take them apart to have two little ones.....Dianne
Can I recommend the brand new Dairy Milk with Oreo for a taste test? Myself and my work colleagues have just discovered it and we all feel that it rates very, very highly on the Richter scale of noms.
