Eurovision Aftermath!

First of all …. well done Darrell for a very long evening of vigorous tweeting …

…. especially as he would be the first to admit that he is not really that au fait with the machinations of twitter ….. he really did admirably.

We armed ourselves for the evening with a smorgasbord of comestibles, encompassing both sweet and savoury delights …

…. all washed down with a nice cup of tea every time there was a lull in proceedings or the song at the time wasn’t doing anything for me!

At 8.59pm Darrell tweeted on our behalf that Russia would be in the top five ….

…. and,  as the results came in,  we wished we’d had a fiver on our Derek Acorah type, spooky prediction!

Denmark were the victors ….. with, to be honest a song that we really didn't rate that much …….
….. our only comment was that as the song ended there was a mahooosive shower of glitter ticker tape,  which did seemed a tad suspicious in its celebratory previousness.

We all watched it to the bitter end, even though bless him, Nigel’s eyelids got heavier and heavier …. and good for Bonnie,  got she 13 points more than the 10 we predicted and didn't come last,19th was quite respectable!

I also suspect that there may have been a little flirtatious tweeting going on with Darrell because at around eleven o’clock he became all secretive as to who was “beeping” him …. and his little cheeks went all red and florid !We ended the evening wondering …..

…… wondering if we would ever be lucky enough to go to Eurovision in real life …. Perhaps when Nigel goes to the Queen’s Garden Party at Buckingham Palace he could ask the Queen if he could possibly have any tickets she or her family couldn’t use ….. as she MUST be offered tons of them as ruler of an entrant country!
