Rod Stewart was Andy’s all time favourite singer ……
…… and when we found out that Rod was “on” at the the Coliseum at Caesars Palace it was a no brainer for us to go .... and also very spooky in a Derek Acorah type way that the only two days this month that Rod was performing coincided with our visit!!!!!!
Caesars Palace is one of those iconic type places that you see in films and TV but we've never actually dreamed we'd ever go there, so just visiting the "resort" as they call them is thrilling enough, but to see a show in the Coliseum …… well ...... that is something else ....... it was almost too hard to contain our tangible and palpable excitement.
So we decided to arrive early, to soak in the atmosphere …..and enjoy the build up,
……then bang on 7.30 …… there he was …..So we decided to arrive early, to soak in the atmosphere …..and enjoy the build up,
Rod …… much to the delight of the ladies to our right who squealed discernibly, and oooooohhed and ahhhhhhhed and sighed a lot too!
Rod sang all the songs we had heard coming from Andy’s office for more years than we care to remember ….. and naturally, we knew all the words almost by transference. I have to say Nigel’s rendition of Maggie May and Every Beat of My Heart were robustly moving and emotional …….. especially the way he swayed in time to the music and beat the air with his fist at particularly rousing moments.
However, I had to really hold on to his coat tails when Rod started kicking footballs into the audience …… Nigel was determined to catch one …. but sadly Rod couldn't quite kick hard enough to reach our tier. We also missed out on a balloon, but as I said to Nigel there was no way we could have got it home in our suitcase without bursting it …… and besides we had our memories and a Rod key ring from the gift shop.
Rod did not disappoint …… it was another wonderful, wonderful experience on our holiday of a lifetime holiday ….
…… which just seems to get better and better as the days go by ….. and we’re only half way through …..
So we decided to take a slow walk home to our hotel, taking in the fountains at the Bellagio …..
….. and a few of the bright lights that make Last Vegas, Last Vegas …

How wonderful, yet again.
I'm sure Andy was the other star alongside Rod the Mod on stage.
Just when it seems the holiday of a lifetime couldn't get any better, you are able to trump it once again.
It's all just too marvellous for words. I am just holding my breath and taking it all in. JantheFan x
This is just the best and could anyone doubt it was all meant to be? Andy's love of the American west and Rod Stewart all in one spectacular setting.......the bright city lights are shining with a big welcome to make your dreams come true.......it makes all your devoted fans happy to the tip of our toes to see these dreams unfold.....Dianne (like Rod Stewart too)
You're right it would have been to good an opportunity to miss. So pleased you were able to get tickets - would have loved to have seen little Nigel enjoying the show. And what a walk home, one very memorable night.
