Last week we alluded to the fact that we had been approached by a major company with a worldwide reputation to do a proper professional review of a Michael Winner type nature of one of their new products ….. we can now reveal, after being enveloped in a cloak of secrecy, that the company is GlaxoSmithKline and the new product is Lucozade Sport Lite Cherry! Just how humungously brilliant is that? Never, ever in our wildest dreams did we think that our humble reviews would one day be noticed by corporate big wigs ….. but they have and we are proud, humbled and determined to do our best!
Anyway, on Friday, whilst in the middle of a rush photocopying job my phone rang, it was the front office to say that there was a parcel addressed to Monkey and Darrell in reception if we would like to go and collect it.
I sent Nigel …… as I urgently needed to put a new staple cartridge in Konica machine.
It was maaahossive, but bless him, it may have taken him the rest of the afternoon, but Nigel pushed that parcel slowly down the long corridor to our office without a single break, even when the headteacher nearly tripped over him, and he never grumbled once. I've seen a new side to Nigel now, he was a small monkey on an important mission, entrusted with a precious cargo and I decided there and then that because of the fortitude he had shown I would never send him to the Chemistry Block for a long stand ever again.
I also made sure that the little fella reaped from his labours, as I allowed him to become the first out of all of us to sample the object of our review ….. but more of that tomorrow ……. let’s just say that Nigel’s first impressions were very encouraging ..... he nommed several times as he glugged!
