Deck The Village With Boughs of ……..

Bilbrook Christmas Tree 6
Usually, in November a large council lorry with a crane appears and men in fluorescent jackets and hard hats hang festive lights on the large tree on the village green, but this year they have been conspicuous in their absence.

However, during the week I spotted that a proper Christmas tree, surrounded by six foot metal barricades mounted on breeze blocks had been erected on the said village green….. which sadly, can hardly be described in terms of a romantic nature…..

……  After another day or so, lights had been added.  I am not sure what Charles Dickens would make of it all, especially the barricades, and I think Tiny Tim too would  be a little perplexed, but as Esther Rantzen has oft been heard to say “That’s Life!”
Bilbrook by Night
When the lights had been plugged in Darrell tried  to get a descent picture of me and the tree in the dark, but there is only so long that you can loiter on the green without arousing suspicions, so this is the best of a very bad job!
Motorworld Bilbrook 1
However, Motorworld have done themselves proud again with their knitted nativity tableau in the basement of a wonderful church constructed out of cardboard boxes… it’s even got an alter, bell tower and real lights!
Motorworld Bilbrook Christmas Window
I love looking at it, it’s BRILLIANT.

The sheep are Nigel’s favourite, he makes Darrell or I take him everyday to have a look, but we are all a bit worried about the one sheep that seems to be standing at a wonky angle!  Perhaps he’s overcome by the significance of the situation he has found himself in!

Great knitted nativity scene although I don't remember the part of the story that says Jesus was born in a church basement.
Also Jesus has arrived a bit early but never mind...better early than never.
Maybe the wonky sheep has been at the booze.

P.S.
You recently had a visitor from Boca Raton, Florida - sounds exotic until to realise it means "Mouse mouth." Welcome anyway.

Hi Diane,
I used to live in Mexico City and the address sometimes got this wrong.
Before Mexico I worked very close to where these monkeys live. In fact I worked with their mum!
I am now in Abu Dhabi and it sometimes puts me in Dubai.
Welcome anyway.

OOPS! Apparently my little old lady Geography Memory wasn't working properly because we are only about 75 miles from Boca Raton. Hello Mr. D, Guess we should feel fortunate the Web Geography Wizard got us on the right continent; probably shouldn't ask for more! My Very Best Wishes to All....Dianne
